It belonged to Fabrizio Violati, a famous collector and racer who also owned the most expensive Ferrari ever sold at auction, a 250 GTO that fetched $38 million in 2014.
The Bialbero was accompanied by another iconic Abarth car, the 124 Rally, which was based on the Fiat 124 Spider and competed in the World Rally Championship in the 1970s. The Stradale was designed by Scaglione in 1967 as a road-going version of the Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 racing car. Its stunning shape combined curves and angles and a mid-mounted V8 engine that produced 230 horsepower. It could reach a top speed of over 260 km/h (162 mph). Only 18 units were made, making it one of the most exclusive Alfa Romeo cars ever.
