Volkswagen is gearing up to launch its latest electric vehicle, the ID.7 GTX, a spacious and sporty SUV that promises to deliver on performance, range, and comfort.
The German automaker has released the first images of the new model, which is expected to debut in Europe in late 2023. The 2023 Volkswagen ID.7 GTX electric SUV is based on the ID.6, which is currently only available in China, but features a more aggressive design, a larger battery, and a dual-motor system that enables four-wheel drive.
The ID.7 GTX is part of Volkswagen's strategy to expand its electric portfolio and compete with rivals like Tesla, Ford, and Hyundai. The company plans to launch at least one new electric model every year until 2030 and aims to sell more than one million EVs annually by 2025. Performance and range
The Volkswagen ID.7 GTX will be powered by a 111 kWh battery pack, which is the largest in Volkswagen's ID family of electric vehicles. The company claims that the battery will provide a range of up to 435 miles (700 km) on a single charge, according to the WLTP cycle.
The SUV will also feature two electric motors on each axle, delivering a combined output of 335 horsepower (250 kW) and 460 pound-feet (624 Nm) of torque. This will allow the ID.7 GTX to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 6.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 112 mph (180 km/h).
The 2023 Volkswagen ID.7 GTX will also have a four-wheel drive system that can distribute power between the front and rear wheels depending on the driving conditions. The electric SUV will have four driving modes: Eco, Comfort, Sport, and Individual, and an off-road mode that can raise the ground clearance by up to 30 mm.
